Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the tete mobile application and website (together, the "Services"), operated by tete ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us promptly at tete.support@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. License to use the Services
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and with Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Services, except to the extent permitted by law.
4. Your content
The journal entries, scores, notes, opponent profiles, photos, and other material you record in tete ("Your Content") remain yours. You grant us a limited license to host, store, back up, and process Your Content solely to provide the Services to you. We claim no ownership of Your Content, we do not share it with other users, and the license ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to short-lived rolling backups.
You are responsible for Your Content. If you record information about other people (for example, an opponent's name or photo), you confirm you are entitled to do so.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other users' data, or the systems supporting the Services;
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services;
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful to others;
- Use automated means to access the Services other than as we permit.
6. Fees
The Services are currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will announce them in advance, and no existing feature you rely on will be converted to paid without notice.
7. Intellectual property
The Services, including the tete name, logo, design, and software, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license in section 3, nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the Services.
8. Third-party services
The Services rely on third-party providers (such as cloud hosting and authentication providers, and Apple for Sign in with Apple). Your use of those features may also be subject to the third party's terms and privacy policies.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time in the App under Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections 4 (as to backups), 7, 10, 11, and 12 survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data loss will never occur — please keep your own records of anything irreplaceable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and USD 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of the Services is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there — except where the consumer protection laws of your country of residence give you mandatory rights and venues, which these Terms do not limit.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this website, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
